APA proclaimed “traditional masculinity” as toxic:… “Traits of so-called ‘traditional masculinity,’ like… masking distress, … have been linked to… aggression….” … What makes this statement really dangerous is the mixture of ideology and ostensibly neutral expertise

One joke made in bad taste can ruin your career but ruthless careerism is considered normal. A new universe of subtle corruption is thus emerging, in which career opportunism and the lowest denouncing of colleagues presents itself as high moralism.

Schopenhauer is at the origins of the rationalist philosophy of life… Schopenhaeurian drive is life drive, while the Freudian drive is death drive. And in the opposition between life and death, I’m for death. That’s why I love Von Trier’s Melancholia. https://t.co/CFziKlLlcd

“the Left does little else than scold & insult”, the Left does what is worse still: it patronizingly “understands” the confusion & blindness of the poor… This… arrogance explodes…in…shows (John Oliver…) which… enact the… arrogance of the liberal intellectual elite

The subliminal message of Trump’s vulgarities to ordinary people was: »I am one of you!«, while Trump supporters felt constantly humiliated by the liberal elite’s patronizing attitude towards them. As Zupančič put it…, “the extremely poor do the fighting for the extremely rich"

we as a rule identify with the other’s weaknesses, not only or even not principally with the strengths. Which means that the more Trump’s limitations were mocked the more ordinary people identified with him & perceived attacks on him as condescending attacks on themselves

we do not need a dialogue between religions (or civilizations); we need solidarity between those who struggle for justice in Muslim countries & those who participate in the same struggle elsewhere. We need a politicization that strengthens the struggle here, there, and everywhere
